The Revenue Department along with the Customs Department, Immigration Office (Immigration Bureau) and Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited co-launching the implementation of the Blockchain technology system to use the VAT refund service for tourists through the world's first mobile application (The World’s First VAT Refund for Tourists App powered by Blockchain) on 17 January 2020 at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

On November 8th, 2017 – The Revenue Department opened the new VAT refund point at U-Tapao International Airport.

On 3-15 April 2017, the VAT Refund for Tourists Office had promoted the refund process at Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang International Airports.

The Revenue Department has promoted the VAT Refund for Tourists Scheme     Mr.Ronnawat Suwannapirom, Principal Advisor on Tax Baru Management,attended the event to promote the VAT Refund for Tourists Scheme at Don Muang International Airport on 4 April 2017. The event has been held on 3-15 April 2017at Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang International Airports.

On 14 September 2016, the Revenue Department opened the VAT Refund for Tourists Counter at Mae Fah Luang - Chiang Rai International Airport.

On 13 July 2016, the Revenue Department opened the VAT Refund for Tourists Counter at Surat Thani International Airport.
